News update for September 24, 2005

September 24, 2005

Well, it has been a couple weeks sinse the last update. Things have been very busy over the last while and there are a few things of news note.

First, we have picked up a couple of retro consoles! We now have a Sega Genesis and an old Nintendo as well as a few games for each. We will try our best to pick up some more of the retro console systems and games over the next while and you can bet your bottom dollar that they will make appearances in at least a couple of the competition nights.

We are still looking for store frontage in or around the Marlborough / Franklin area. Our hope is to get one set up close to the LRT for easy access for all the folks that don’t have a vehicle. We will keep you posted on this project. So far we have a couple that are good prospects but we are still trying to figure out what we can afford and make real.

Several new games have come out and have been added to the collection including Ghost Recon Summit Strike, Rainbow Six Lockdown, Burnout 3 Revenge and Metal Slug 4 and 5 just to name a few. As always, the collection is growing and getting better by the week! If you are interested in playing, just let us know and we will accommodate in anyway possible!

We have now got some product for the drink side in. Our Coke contact has gotten us our first order of product, so the fridge is no longer empty. We are back to all of our usual as well as some new energy drinks, Rock Star and Full Throttle.

We are very happy to announce that we have also ordered our Xbox 360 consoles and a bunch of titles for release! We will have 16 Xbox 360’s and several of the top titles including Ghost Recon 3, Gears of War, Kameo, 99 Nights and Oblivion just to name a few for their release dates! We already have people asking if we are planning an event for the release, and the answer is at the moment a “possibly yes”. The reason we are unable to give a firm answer is because we still don’t have a store to play in and until that is resolved, all we can say is hang in there and we will see what we can get going.

Donna and I had a visit here in Calgary from one of our good friends and fantastic game players Steve Kelly (WeeBassturd) this week. He came and stayed over night at our place and had a fantastic visit with us. We miss the hell out of him and his wife Michelle (ShyBash) (although she didn’t come visit us this trip) a very great deal! We hope that they have a fantastic trip back home and come to visit us again to meet the awesome group of gamers we have here in Calgary!

Yes, all you Fort McMurray folks, we do think about you and miss you all! We would love for all of you to come down and visit us and check out the new shop once it is open!

Till next week, we will see you on line or in the games room!
