Weekly update for August 21, 2005
August 21, 2005
This has been a very busy weekend, but not in the commons sense of having lots of gamers coming in to play. Actually, as for games, this is the first non-gaming weekend we have had since we have arrived in Calgary and got the rooms set up.
Us being busy this week has been getting things sorted out with our lives and getting the business side going.
On the business side, we have a few new items to talk about and start getting people ready for.
The first is that we have picked up an Action Replay kits for the Xbox so that we can use it with the machinima that is currently being worked on by a number of people. It seems that we have a few projects underway according to Chealion, Proton Jon and Nail Scars.
All of whom are in the process of writing scripts and should have something for public consumption shortly. (Fingers Crossed). The word so far is that Chealion and Proton are both looking at Halo 2 based Machinima settings and Nail Scars is looking at going the Rainbow Six 3 route.
There are a few conversations on idea and progress in the forums. I would assume that the casting calls will be out soon for people to come in and start up with the actual production work. If you are interested in getting involved, get into the forums and let everyone know.
The next little bit of news is that we have just put in the order for our new video camera. We just put in the order today for our brand new Sony HDV 1080i HDRFX1 camcorder. We should have the unit in about two weeks and will start up on some of the advertising and promotional stuff once it comes.

Our first goal is to start creating a few commercials to advertise the company a bit and then start working on getting some reviews and some short movies going. It will most likely take us a few weeks to get used to the camera and all its cool functions, but we should be getting some projects up and running here shortly.
I would like to start putting out a casting call for some models (both male and female) who are interested in working in some of the video work for the advertising of the games room and other stuff. If you are interested and think you have what it takes, drop me a line or throw your name in the forums.
Next week is time to get serious on trying to find a location to get the store set up. We have a couple of places in mind that we are looking at, but are still trying to figure out the logistics to ensure we can keep things afloat and ensuring ourselves that we actually have a market here. We will keep you posted on how everything is transpiring.
We have also been collecting a lot of cool news on the upcoming release of the Xbox 360. It looks like this is going to have a lot of options and features to choose from, so I suggest getting informed and keep up to date so you know what is going to be the best buy for you! We have been putting in all of the information in the forums, so get in and check it out. We will also answer any of the questions you may have as well, so don’t be afraid to get involved and post in there as well.
On the topic of posting, I would like to again thank Chealion for all of his efforts in keeping us all up to date on the Xbox 360 information. He has been a huge assistance in backing me up when I have not been available to source and post everything that is out there. Keep up the fantastic work Chealion!
Until next week, we will see you all in the forums or in here gaming it up!
